Logging in to AI services with an e-mail code: general steps
Most services such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini support e-mail login: enter your e-mail, receive a code or login link, and finish logging in. Interfaces differ slightly; below are the general steps (following the current official interface).
General steps
- Open the service's official website or app.
- Choose an option like “Continue with email”.
- Enter your e-mail address and submit.
- Check your inbox for the code or login link.
- Enter the code or click the link to finish logging in.
With Outlook and similar mailboxes
Outlook, Gmail and others can all receive codes. Logging in to the web version of the mailbox is the most direct way to read the message. If the mailbox was delivered by support, change the password or check the security settings as support advises soon after logging in.
If the e-mail doesn't arrive
- First check the spam / promotions folder.
- Make sure the address has no typos.
- Wait 1–3 minutes; don't keep pressing “resend”, as repeated requests may trigger limits.
- Codes usually have an expiry time; request a fresh one after it expires.
- Try another browser or device.
Safety
- Enter codes only on the official website and beware of look-alike sites.
- Never tell anyone the code, including people claiming to be support.
