Getting started with Claude

2026-10-121 min read

This guide covers basic use after you receive a Claude subscription (top-up or ready-made account). Names follow the current official version.

  1. Open the official Claude website, or use the official mobile / desktop app.
  2. Top-up: log in with your own account; ready-made account: use the details support gave you.
  3. If e-mail verification is requested, check your inbox for the code or login link (look in spam if it doesn't arrive).

Confirm the subscription is active

Check the current plan in account settings. If it still shows free, log out and back in and wait a few minutes; if it is still wrong, send a screenshot to support. Note: our Claude products cover the subscription status only, not account restrictions by the platform — please follow the official usage rules.

Your first question

  • Describe what you need as you would to a colleague: background, what you want, format, length.
  • Upload long documents directly and ask for a summary, key points or cross-checks.
  • If you are not satisfied, follow up: “shorter”, “more casual”, “give me three versions”.

Handy features (following the current official interface)

  • Projects: keep related materials and instructions in one project so later chats carry that background.
  • Artifacts: have it generate web pages, documents or small tools and preview them on the side.
  • Style settings: adjust the tone and level of detail of the answers.
