Plus, Pro, Max — what do the tiers mean?

2026-10-011 min read

AI subscriptions usually come in tiers. The general rule: the higher the tier, the more usage allowance, and the richer the models and features.

  • Entry tier (e.g. Plus, Pro): for everyday personal use — writing, study, office work and light coding are usually enough.
  • High tier (e.g. Pro 100/200/500, Max 5x): for heavy use, such as long coding sessions, large document processing, or anyone needing higher limits.

Do I need a high tier?

Start with the entry tier for a while. If you often hit the usage limit and have to wait, consider upgrading. Most people are fine with the entry tier.

Exact allowances and features are set by the official provider and may change; ask support to confirm before you order.
